Cog’s Ladder

Created in Articulate Storyline, this module illustrates the five levels that teams pass through to become successful, based on the work of George O. Charrier and published in 1972. I thought of this module as one of a possible series of training units on workplace skills.

Teamwork is emphasized in many job descriptions but who has really thought about what teamwork really is? This module shows what teamwork involves, what are the five stages of team dynamics and what naturally happens to workplace teams that move through the five levels of growth.

Instructional Design Rationale

• Although there is a fair amount of text I tried to give equal space to illustrations that visually show what the text is communicating.
• I also created a graded quiz at the end of the instruction with feedback and the ability to repeat the questions until the correct answer is chosen.
• This quiz is designed as a review to have trainees cover the material again as well as judge retention.
