I have created a sample home page for an introductory course in ethics. This page demonstrates what is needed to put a course online. Click this link to access the page.

You will see the front page of the course. The page includes an introduction by the instructor; specific class objectives that are measurable; contact information for the instructor and extra course resources. It is also very helpful to include contact information for tech support, writing guides and support lines in case of a crisis. At the bottom of the page are instructions for self-enrollment.

Use the navigation column on the left to post items like announcements, the syllabus, assignment changes and required class files. ALWAYS include a calendar with assignment due dates. Repeat important information in several places within the course site so students won’t have to remember exactly where they saw the information last.
